A video that went viral on social media on Saturday, November 2, shows a female student wearing only her underwear on a university campus.

The young woman, seen with one or two campus security officials nearby, begins walking through the university grounds after a few moments.

The video is reportedly from Tehran's University of Science and Research. According to accounts circulating online, after a physical altercation with security officers over her failure to comply with mandatory hijab rules, the student removed all her clothing in a single "protest" act. The moment was filmed on students' mobile phones from an upper classroom overlooking the courtyard, and it drew a large reaction on social media, with many users praising her "boldness" and "courage." No further information about her identity has been released.

Amnesty International, hours later, called for the student's unconditional release. The human rights organization stated in a post on X: "Iranian authorities must immediately and unconditionally release the student who was violently arrested by university security for protesting the improper enforcement of mandatory hijab."
